Xsolla, a leading global video game commerce company, has signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP) and the Department of Trade and Industry – Export Marketing Bureau (DTI-EMB). The agreement aims to accelerate the growth of the Philippine video game development ecosystem through mentorship, industry promotion, and expanded access to global commerce infrastructure. Bringing Together Industry, Government, and Commerce The partnership unites three distinct forces: Xsolla's global commerce platform, GDAP's role as the Philippines' leading game industry association, and DTI-EMB's mandate to promote Philippine exports and international market development. Working together, the three organizations plan to strengthen local development capabilities, boost international visibility for Philippine-made games, and connect developers with the tools they need to compete on the world stage. Mentorship and Capability-Building Programs At the core of the MoU is a commitment to design structured mentorship and capability-building initiatives for Philippine developers and publishers. These will include workshops, seminars, training events, and one-on-one mentoring sessions, alongside educational campaigns covering accelerator programs, publishing pathways, and monetization opportunities within Xsolla's ecosystem. The programs are built to serve developers at every stage, from emerging indie studios to established publishers looking to expand abroad. Raising the Philippines' Global Profile Beyond education, the collaboration will support joint marketing efforts and industry events designed to elevate the Philippines' standing as a global gaming destination. These initiatives are expected to expand GDAP's community reach, reinforce DTI-EMB's export promotion goals, and deepen Xsolla's engagement with the country's fast-growing video game development sector. Industry Leadership Weighs In "The Philippines continues to establish itself as one of the most exciting video game development markets in Southeast Asia," said Chris Hewish, President of Xsolla. He pointed to the country's creative talent, engaged gaming audience, and strong government support as key drivers, adding that the partnership is meant to help local developers build capability, gain visibility, and tap into the commerce infrastructure needed for international growth.
