Xsolla has announced its lead sponsorship of PlanetPlay's flagship 2026 environmental campaigns: Battle for the Habitats (BFTH) and the Green Games Showcase (GGS), an official showcase within Summer Game Fest 2026. The partnership makes Xsolla the principal commercial partner across both activations, with net profits directed to the Rainforest Alliance, Oceana, and the Gold Standard-certified Green Earth Hongera Energy Efficient Cookstoves Project in Kenya. PlanetPlay is an award-winning not-for-profit gaming platform that has channeled more than $2 million to environmental projects worldwide to date.

Battle for the Habitats: 200 Games, Two Oceans, One Mission

Launched on Earth Day (April 22) and running through World Environment Day (June 5), Battle for the Habitats mobilized over 200 games, double its initial target of 100, drawing in publishers including Capcom and Sega alongside a wide indie cohort.
Every purchase of a featured title through PlanetPlay's PC games marketplace directs 100% of net profits to the Rainforest Alliance and Oceana. Xsolla's branding appears across the PlanetPlay store and all campaign materials, with a mid-campaign milestone marked on Endangered Species Day, May 15.
The campaign closes June 5 with livestreams reaching a combined audience of 16 million followers, including creators Max Dood and Briana White. Xsolla's existing web shop integration with Avakin Life is already live within BFTH, a real-world example of its direct-to-consumer commerce infrastructure operating at the intersection of gaming and environmental action.

Green Games Showcase: Gaming's Most Watched Sustainability Moment

On June 6, the Green Games Showcase streams at 11 AM PT across the official Summer Game Fest YouTube and Twitch channels. Co-hosted by award-winning actor Anjali Bhimani (the voice of Symmetra in Overwatch and Rampart in Apex Legends) and Jude Ower MBE, Chief Strategy Officer of PlanetPlay, the GGS spotlights PC games that reconnect players with nature and inspire environmental hope. The showcase ranked as the second-most-watched at Summer Game Fest 2025, and this year's edition carries even greater ambition. Net profits generated through GGS will fund the Hongera Cookstoves Project in Kenya, providing cleaner cooking infrastructure to rural communities, reducing carbon emissions, limiting deforestation, and improving health outcomes for thousands of households. A dedicated Steam Wishlist lets players discover and support participating titles long after the broadcast ends.
