Xsolla, a global commerce company, will host "Industry Lunch and Learn: Intersection of Gaming & Entertainment" as part of LA Tech Week on Wednesday, October 14, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. PT in Los Angeles. The session brings video game developers and entertainment-industry professionals together to examine emerging monetization models at the intersection of the two industries, followed by a networking lunch.Licensed IP as a Growth EngineThe first panel, "From Revenue Play to Growth Engine: The New Case for Licensed IP," looks at licensed IP from the studio's side. Panelists will discuss how a studio should budget for a licensed IP moment compared with a standard user acquisition campaign, and how to value something that drives revenue and brings in new players at the same time. Keeping those players is its own challenge: Sensor Tower puts day-30 retention for mobile games at 3% to 5%.What Games Offer Filmmakers and MusiciansThe second panel, "What Filmmakers and Musicians Get Out of Games," is built for attendees whose business isn't games at all. Panelists will explore what licensing into a game offers someone from film or music.Built on 21 Years of Commerce InfrastructureFounded in 2005, Xsolla has spent twenty-one years building the commerce infrastructure a large part of the video game industry runs on. More than 1,500 game teams use its tools, and more than 70% of the top 100 highest-grossing games trust it. The company is headquartered in Los Angeles.
"Los Angeles is where video games and entertainment already share the same talent, the same audiences and, increasingly, the same IP," said Berkley Egenes, Chief Marketing and Growth Officer at Xsolla. "What's still missing is a shared playbook for how these partnerships drive real engagement and create new user acquisition and revenue opportunities on both sides. That's the conversation we want to have here in our hometown."Request a SpotSpace is limited; sign up now.
