In a major milestone for the gaming industry, Xsolla has officially acquired GamePix, the premier web games platform that publishes and distributes browser video games globally. This strategic acquisition unites GamePix’s expansive web publishing network with Xsolla’s robust global commerce infrastructure. Together, the two platforms provide game creators with an end-to-end pipeline to take titles directly from development to a paying, worldwide audience. A Decade of Web Gaming Innovation Founded in 2013 by Edouard Wawra, Valerio Pullano, and Justine Silipo, GamePix has continually adapted to advances in modern browsers. Over the past decade, the platform evolved from Flash to HTML5, WebGL, WebGPU, and now AI-created games. Today, GamePix hosts a catalog of more than 10,000 web titles and supports a vibrant developer community of over 4,000 creators. A key driver of its success is proprietary porting technology that converts PC and mobile titles built in Unity or C++ into web builds up to 90% smaller, delivering high-quality gameplay with no installation required. Supercharging Monetization and AI Creators With Xsolla’s integration, GamePix developers gain instant access to payments across 200+ geographies and 1,000+ local payment methods, plus built-in player engagement tools. Gamers enjoy seamless, web-based play backed by a single identity across all GamePix titles and apps. Importantly, this acquisition establishes a direct path to market for AI-generated video games. While modern AI tools make building playable video games faster than ever, distribution and monetization remain significant hurdles. Creators can now connect directly to GamePix and Xsolla within their AI tools, going live within minutes with global payments and distribution pre-configured. Scaling Up for the Industry image1.jpg
Chris Hewish, President of Xsolla, noted that the browser remains the most open gaming platform, and GamePix gives developers of all sizes a rapid path to growth: “The browser is the most open platform for video games, and GamePix has spent more than a decade building one of the strongest web-based ecosystems,” said Chris Hewish, President of Xsolla. “Whether a studio has a PC catalog, a mobile hit, or a video game built with AI over a weekend, GamePix now gives that studio a fast path to players on the web, and Xsolla, the tools to let them grow.”

Edouard Wawra, CEO and Co-Founder of GamePix, expressed that joining Xsolla scales their original vision: turning the web into a universal console that anyone can build for: “In 2013 we placed a bet that the web would become the world’s biggest console, and we have spent every year since building the technology and the community to make it happen,” said Edouard Wawra, CEO and Co-Founder of GamePix. “And now with AI, that bet is turning out even bigger than we imagined: a console anyone can build games for. Joining Xsolla isn't the finish line; it's a change of scale. What we built for thousands of developers, we can now bring to the whole video game industry.”
