On Thursday, June 26, Chris Hewish joined industry leaders for a panel discussion exploring how regions like Sub-Saharan Africa and Türkiye are no longer just “emerging.” They are taking the lead with vibrant ecosystems and community-powered creativity.This panel was moderated by Susanna Pollack, President of Games for Change, and featured Güven Çatak, Founder and Director of the Bahcesehir University Game Lab in Türkiye, and Hugo Obi, CEO of Maliyo Games in Kenya.The conversation spotlighted how these regions are evolving into sustainable creative hubs, driven by cultural authenticity, local storytelling, and innovative grassroots initiatives.
