  • What is Xsolla Connect?
    Xsolla Connect is the platform that empowers members of the video gaminge industry to discover, access, and create partnerships with game developers, IP holders, agencies, and other business resources.
  • Is there a cost to use Xsolla Connect?
    There is currently no upfront cost to use Xsolla Connect. For any matches made on Connect, Xsolla receives a 5% fee of developer’s gross revenue only if the game is completed and only upon successful monetization using Xsolla products and services.
  • What are acceptance criteria for developers to enter Xsolla Connect?
    Xsolla Connect is for professional video game developers. You will be asked to provide information about your status as part of the application process.
  • How do I sign up for Xsolla Connect?
    First, sign up an Xsolla Publisher account. Then, create your Xsolla Connect profile. Your application will be reviewed within two business days.
  • What is a Request?
    A Request is an introductory message you can send to a vendor to invite them to connect with you, and the first step in your potential proposal. Use your Request to introduce your studio and add context to your proposal, which should include your game’s concept, genre, platforms, and working prototype.
  • How do I create a Request?
    Visit the My Requests section to create, edit, send, and manage your requests to IP Holders.
  • How do I connect with IP holders?
    Click on the IP that you are interested in and follow the prompts. You may be required to sign an additional NDA.
  • Where can I find my sent requests?
    Your account has a section called My Requests, where you can find all the requests you have sent to IP Holder Listings.
  • How do I know if the IP holder has received my request?
    You will be notified in My Connections and be sent an email to the address in your profile.
  • Why should I accept both the Xsolla NDA and IP holder’s NDA?
    The Xsolla NDA can only cover Xsolla. Our IP holders may have their own individual requirements, requiring a separate NDA.
  • What happens if my submission is accepted?
    You will be notified in My Connections and be sent an email to the address in your profile.
  • What are common reasons as to why my submission was rejected?

    Submissions are accepted or rejected at the discretion of the IP holder. Common reasons for why a submission may be rejected are:
    • Your studio does not meet the desired experience level
    • The concept does not fit the IP
    • The concept does not suit the demographic
    • The timeline is too long
    • Another concept was more compelling
    • The Listing was removed from the marketplace

  • What happens if my submission is rejected? Is there an appeal process?
    You will be notified in My Connections and be sent an email to the address in your profile. There is no appeals process through Xsolla Connect.

IP holder questions

  • Why would an IP holder use Xsolla Connect?
    Xsolla Connect gives you access to our curated network of qualified developers and publishers interested in created licensed games based on existing IP. We’ve worked to leverage our industry experience and network to empower you to discover potential partners in a single efficient process.
  • What kind of IP is Xsolla Connect looking for?
    Xsolla Connect is for any IP that lends itself to game play with characters, worlds, and situations suitable for adaptation into video games of all kinds, from mobile puzzle games to AAA console titles.
  • How do I connect with developers and publishers?
    Connect with developers and publishers by creating a Listing for your IP. Interested developers and publishers will submit proposal requests that include their professional qualifications and a working prototype for your consideration.
  • How does Xsolla Connect protect our IP and other sensitive competitive information?
    Xsolla Connect can place your IP information and other sensitive documents behind a secure gate that requires a signed NDA of your creation for access.
  • How has Xsolla vetted developers and publishers on Xsolla Connect?
    Xsolla aims to maintain a community of highly qualified developers and publishers on Xsolla Connect. We provide initial screening to qualify potential partners, however we recommend that IP holders also vet potential partners according to their own needs.
  • Is there any exclusivity to Xsolla Connect?
    No. Xsolla Connect is non-exclusive.
  • How does Xsolla Connect monetize?
    There is currently no upfront cost to use Xsolla Connect. For any matches made on Connect, Xsolla receives a 5% fee of developer’s gross revenue only if the game is completed and only upon successful monetization using Xsolla products and services.
  • How are deals negotiated for matches made through Xsolla Connect?
    In its current iteration, Xsolla Connect is a matchmaking tool and resource database that connects IP holders with developers and publishers looking to make IP-based games. Once a match is made and contact information is exchanged, the parties will negotiate the particulars of their business relationship directly.
  • Is matchmaking the ultimate vision for Xsolla Connect?
    Matchmaking is our first step. We have a robust roadmap of features planned to facilitate and automate more aspects of licensee / licensor relationships in the future.
  • What happens if my Listing is accepted?
    We will notify you by email at the address provided in your profile.
